The NCERT books will be introduced first in grade 1 from 2021 to 22, in grades 2 and 3 from 2022 to 23, in grades 4 and 5 from 2023 to 24, and then in grades 6 to 8 from 2024 to 25, said the minister in a press release. The decision to follow the NCERT curriculum in the UP elementary and upper elementary schools was made as directed by Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath, he said.

“We have decided to introduce National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) -based curricula in elementary and upper elementary schools of the UP government from next year to ensure that a common curriculum is followed. It will help the students if their parents move out of UP and move to another location, ”said Dwivedi.
