The Technical University Veer Surendra Sai (VSSUT) in Burla published the results of the last semester of B.Tech and B.Arch, making it the first university in Odisha to do so after taking the exams online.
The results were announced on Thursday for the exams that took place online between July 13th and 18th.
With the release of the results, the institution became the state’s first government-run university to conduct online final exams for students and to publish the results in record time, said VSSUT Vice Chancellor Atal Chaudhuri.
It was a big challenge for us to do the exam online at this point, but we did very well. The result was released on Thursday and the students are also very happy, ”he said.
The university sent an online form to the students on June 23, asking if they were interested in taking the exam online or offline.
They were asked to inform themselves about their preferred examination method by June 28th. 98 percent of students preferred to appear online for the exam.
All 970 students who preferred online mode appeared in the exams between July 13th and 18th. The evaluation of the work continued, Chaudhuri said.
The students’ viva tests were also carried out online.
The university was required to publish the result by August 31, and according to the obligation, the result was published on July 30, he said.
The Vice Chancellor said 99 percent of the candidates had been declared successful.
Students who have not chosen to take the online exam will be asked to share their preferences. Exams for those who prefer online mode will take place in August.
University graduate exams have also been conducted online, and the results are expected to be released on August 14 after the printed copies of the student’s thesis have been submitted, he said.
