The government of Andhra Pradesh is launching a massive campaign among students across the state on September 5th, “Teachers’ Day”. The campaign aims to encourage students to be grateful to their teachers. This would be an online campaign to raise students’ awareness of the important role teachers play in everyone’s life.

As part of the campaign, the government created two hashtages – #OurTeachersOurHeroes and #TeachersFromIndia. Students would be asked to write their favorite teacher’s name on a white paper and take a selfie with the poster. These are tweeted with the hashtag #OurTeachersOurHeroes. The teachers and lecturers take selfies in the background of their schools and universities and upload them to social media using the hashtag #OurTeachersOurHeroes.
