TNEA Online Random Number 2020 released for advice on technical approvals
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) committee generated 10-digit random numbers for more than one lakh candidate on Wednesday. Random numbers are used to resolve the tie when many candidates get the same grades in the ranking.

Random numbers for 1,31,146 candidates who applied for technical admission consultation.

The 10-digit number would be used to break the tie in case many students got the same grades when deciding on ranks.

“This year, 1,60,834 candidates have signed up for the consultation, and 1,114,436 of them have paid the fees for the consultation. To date, 1,14,206 candidates have uploaded their documents,” officials said.

According to the tentative schedule, the ranking for the candidates will be published on September 7th and the online consultation for general quotas will take place from September 17th to October 6th.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis, the results of Class XII were delayed by three months. The results were not published until July 16, one day after the approval process began.

The delay is also likely to postpone online advice on general quotas, which is slated to run from September 17th to October 6th.
