The Tripura government has set up a hotline to advise students on study-related issues and depression, if any, because they are staying at home for a long time due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

The Tripura government recently set up a call center for the Student Helpline in the Education Department in Agartala. Students in Grades 1 through 12 can get academic counseling, as well as advice from psychologists or doctors on how to fight depression, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekday by calling 0381-2410053.

“We recently set up a call center to help the students. Teachers and doctors are available to take calls from students and advise them on their academic issues and depression. We know that many parents are tense because their children suffer from depression because of the pandemic that they stay at home for a long time. We made the right decision at the right time, ”said Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath.

Education launched a video lecture session on local television channels, online courses and also SMS-based courses for the students shortly after a lockdown had been imposed since March. The SMS-based interactive courses started because most of the students have no smartphone and no internet connection.
