Punjab Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla said on Friday that the state government has decided to allow 31,022 open category 11 candidates to be provisionally admitted to school as regular students. “However, such students have to take grade 10 exams when things normalize,” Singla said. The move is taking the current COVID 19 situation into account. He said regular student enrollment results were recently released by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) based on a continuous comprehensive assessment (CCE).

However, the result of “open school” students was held back because these students do not fall under the CCE criteria, the minister said.

“Candidates in the open category were faced with a dilemma because they were not admitted to school as regular students. After examining the situation, we decided to give them a short-term relief. Now they can be temporarily admitted to class 11 if things get normal (COVID 19 situation) and they have to pass the matriculation tests, ”Singla said in an official press release.
