The Committee on Public Enterprises has selected the Indian Airport Authority (AAI), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Oil India Ltd for a review in 2020-21, following a communication from the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
The Public Enterprises Committee met on July 29 and selected eleven topics for a comprehensive review. This includes AAI, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), the Food Corporation of India (FCI), NBCC (India) Limited, National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), Oil India Ltd., Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited ( HAL)), National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), Hindustan Antibiotics Limited and IRCON International Limited.
For the horizontal study, the committee will review the performance of public sector insurance companies, the performance of the CPSU of the energy sector under CSR, the performance of the CPSU of the coal sector according to CSR, the management of the CPSU of the coal sector, the corporate governance of the CPSU, the performance evaluation of the CPSU of the steel sector and performance review CPSUs in the health sector, development and production of biofuels / biodiesel by CPSUs and evaluation of research and development (R&D) activities of the CPSUs in Maharatna.
Five audit-based reports, including those related to NMDC Limited’s operational performance, are also audited.
