Due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus across the country, all examinations and academic sessions are affected. In such a situation, IIT Delhi also decided to conduct video conference interviews to protect students from corona. This is the first time that videoconferencing interviews are being offered for admission to MTech and PhD programs.
There will be no interview for the PG program
At the same time, IIT management will not conduct interviews for PG programs in session 2020. You will receive admission to the PG program based on the GATE score. Director of the National Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Prof. V Ramgopal Rao said that given the current situation, it is a danger to call a large number of students for the interview. In such a situation, the students’ applications for MTech are checked and interviews are then conducted.
Decision made based on more students
In addition, interviews with students who are shortlisted for admission to doctoral studies are also conducted via video conference. Prof. Rao stated that 500 students are selected for the doctoral program each year. Due to the large number of students, students are selected at the institute’s primary level and the interviews are conducted via video conferences.
