All states / UTs are expected to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines from the Department of the Interior and the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Generic preventive measures
I. Maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet as much as possible.
ii. The use of face coverings / masks is mandatory.
iii. Frequent hand washing with soap (at least 40-60 seconds), even if the hands are not visibly dirty. Wherever possible, alcohol-based hand sanitizers can be used (for at least 20 seconds).
iv. Breath labels must be strictly adhered to. This includes the strict practice of covering your mouth and nose with a handkerchief / handkerchief / bent elbow when coughing / sneezing and properly disposing of used handkerchiefs.
v. Self-monitoring of health by everyone and reporting of diseases at the earliest.
vi. Spitting is strictly prohibited.
vii. The installation and use of the Aarogya Setu App can be recommended wherever possible.
All schools (with grades IX through XII) must specifically take the following precautions
I. Online / distance learning is still allowed and funded.
ii. Students in grades 9 to 12 are allowed to visit their school voluntarily for advice from their teachers. This requires the written consent of the parents / legal guardians. Such visits and teacher-student interactions must be organized in stages.
