The Maharashtra State Council for Education Research has set up four YouTube channels that are aimed at middle school students from Marathi and Urdum up to grade 10, said Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad. The channels will be taught in Marathi and Urdu and later expanded to include Hindi and English teaching, the Minister of Education said.

In a decision issued on Wednesday, the government asked schools to hold online sessions for all classes from pre-school to 12th grade. Preschool classes are scheduled to run for 30 minutes Monday through Friday, with teachers interacting and leading the students’ parents.

For classes 1 and 2 there are two sessions with a total duration of 30 minutes. The first 15-minute session is for interaction and training for parents, and the second session is for activity-based learning for students. Two classes of 45 minutes each take place for classes 3 to 8. For classes 9 to 12, there are up to four sessions of 45 minutes each day, said Varsha Gaikwad.
