The farmer drives 300 km to ensure that the daughter shows up for the JEE test
RANCHI: A farmer rode his daughter 300 km on a motorcycle from Nalanda to Ranchi so she could show up for her JEE exam on Tuesday.

Dhananjay Kumar, who lives in the Nalanda neighborhood of Bihar, traveled 300 km in 12 hours to make sure his daughter shows up for the JEE exam at a center in Ranchis Tupudana, Jharkhand.

Since there is no bus connection between Bihar and Jharkhand in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, Kumar started his bike tour early in the morning on Monday from the Nalanda district.

After eight hours he reached Bokaro and continued his journey until he reached Ranchi on Monday afternoon, about 135 km from Bokaro.

“I found the bike to be the only way to travel that long from Nalanda to Ranchi. There are no buses due to the coronavirus,” Dhananjay told reporters.

He said, “When I got to Ranchi from Bokaro, I felt sleepy. I stopped halfway, took a nap, and resumed the trip with my daughter.”

Around 22,843 students attend the JEE exam at ten centers in Jharkhand.
