They said that since teachers need to meet parents to be accepted and also need to approach households in villages and remote areas to learn about the infrastructure that is available for students to attend digital classes, it is important that they are equipped with the necessary equipment to protect themselves and others.
“Starting tomorrow, the teachers will also work on the front lines. We have to meet many parents and places to gather the necessary information. It is therefore necessary that we are provided with hygiene kits and PPE, ”said M Ravindar, President of TPTF.
The teachers said after making multiple statements, officials moved the majority of Covid-19 testing centers from state schools, but it was necessary that they were properly redeveloped.
“We demand that you immediately disinfect every corner of the school to stop the spread of Covid-19 and make the premises suitable for the work of teachers and other staff,” said B Rambabu, General Secretary.
They said that in the Hyderabad district alone, more than 30 state schools had been used as Covid-19 testing centers as of Wednesday. Teachers also said that medical debris such as swabs, masks, etc. is being thrown all over the premises, which in turn can pose a major threat to staff who will be required to attend school from Thursday.
