Telangana: Only 77.52% of candidates show up for EAMCET on day one
HYDERABAD: The number of students taking the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) exam this year has fallen sharply, with only 77.52% of candidates showing up for the test this year , compared to about 90% participation every year.

While 7,415 (86.20%) out of 8,602 registered candidates appeared for the test on the first day of the technical current exam in 79 centers in Telangana, only 6,365 (69.98%) out of 9,227 registered candidates in 23 centers appeared for the Test In Andhra Pradesh in the morning. In relation to the afternoon session, 7,140 (84.98%) out of 8,401 registered candidates appeared for the test in Telangana and 6,769 (71.37%) out of 9,484 registered candidates in AP

“In Telangana, attendance is more or less the same as annual attendance, as 85.59% of all registered candidates showed up for the exam. In AP, however, there was a decrease in total participation of around 15%. This could be because students are trying to attend local colleges in the state due to the pandemic, ”said A Govardhan, Convener, TS EAMCET. Another reason for the low attendance in the AP state could be that AP EAMCET will take place shortly.

EAMCET will take place for another three days in 102 centers in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh – on September 10th, 11th and 14th.
