Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has planned the digital pathway studies in the face of the coronavirus pandemic to conduct online entrance exams for its various graduate and integrated courses starting September 28.
While the admissions process has also begun for next year, the university has put in place a supervised method of running tests for its various departments. Accordingly, mock tests were organized to help students become familiar with the virtual exam mode.
Students can take the mock tests between September 21 and 26.
Uttam Chavan, Assistant Registrar, PG Approval, informed: “In order to familiarize themselves with the supervised method, the students can take the mock exams before they appear for the actual exams.”
A total of 28,000 students applied for 3,200 free places in 61 different courses at the university, including in the humanities, natural sciences and technology, trade and management.
A student who showed up for the humanities entrance exam said, “The mock test will help us understand the technical details and prepare for the finals.”
Students are even allowed to come to the mock tests several times to dispel doubts.
As the entrance exams are scheduled in batches between September 28th and 30th, the results are expected to be released on October 3rd.
Students can take the exams through devices such as cell phones, laptops, computers, iPad, etc. Similar mock tests for admission to Bachelor programs have already been carried out in a pilot project.
