Jalandhar: Southeast Asia’s premier Malaysian university TU (Taylor’s University) and LPU (Lovely Professional University) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to guide students and faculties from both universities on academic and scientific issues. The TU strives to be the best Private University in Malaysia, in the top 1.3% of universities worldwide, in the top 1% in employer reputation, in the top 50 50 year olds worldwide and in the QS World University -Ranking rated 349. The Memorandum of Understanding marks an important milestone in the achievement of the LPU’s goal of regularly globalizing Indian education. With this pact, the School of Hotel Management & Tourism at LPU will promote a broader international perspective for its students.
The cooperation between the two top universities in the region defines the areas for the joint development of research projects and the use of funds. Exchange of academic information, materials and facilities; Student and faculty exchange; Organization / participation in joint symposiums, seminars, conferences, workshops; Developing articulations for twinning / joint programs; Allow students to complete part of the program / degree at each institution; and promoting other activities / programs that have been mutually agreed upon from time to time.
For this important collaboration; Vice President, International Students Recruitment & Institutional Partnerships of the TU Dr. Sheikh Fahmy Sheikh Mohamed and Registrar of the LPU Dr. Monica Gulati have signed the MoU. TU Director Institutional Partnerships Au Shieu Ye and Additional Director of the LPU Department for International Affairs Aman Mittal are coordinators for their respective universities. Mr. Mittal endorsed the commitment to the cooperation and announced that internationalization is the focus of the LPU’s strategic goals. This MoU with TU marks an important milestone in the realization of this goal. Both coordinators believed that the signed agreement would pave the way for a much wider and more fruitful collaboration.
The hospitality, tourism, and events sector is growing exponentially, and Taylor’s School of Hospitality, Tourism, and Events (SHTE) prides itself on seeing every step of that growth. It pioneers hospitality training in Southeast Asia.
