SMPIC College hosts online competitions

AHMEDABAD: The way of holding competitions and gatherings has changed overall thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. With all workshops and events being postponed online, the SM Patel Institute of Commerce hosted two competitions in the same way.

Manthan: A Thought Provoking Mission, a language competition for BCom (Hons.) And MCom students, was held on August 26th and 27th with 178 participants. Covering topics such as “Swachh Bharat Mission: Success is still at large”, “Online shopping will soon replace all traditional malls” and “Management of Failure”, the event aimed to improve rhetoric and language skills. The students expressed their views in English, Hindi and Gujarati.

The ‘Readathon Competition’ runs year-round and consists of students engaging in fiction, non-fiction, reference books, magazines, and articles. The competition aims to improve students’ reading skills and develop a love of reading and books. The final took place via an online VIVA, which was given by the judges Dr. Tejal Jani and Dr. Nirja Vasavada was rated. To pursue their goal of “For the Students, by the Students, by the Students”, both competitions were organized by the Institute’s English and Reading Club.
