'Singhvi Trinity Scholarship' redesigned for Indian students
NEW DELHI: Congressman and senior attorney Abhishek Singhvi on Sunday redesigned its Trinity College Cambridge scholarship to be aimed exclusively at Indian undergraduate students seeking an LLM postgraduate degree.

The Singhvi Trinity Scholarship is another glimmer of hope for Indian law students looking to pursue their quest for a global legal education, a statement said.

Singhvi, who pledged Rs 2 crore to set up the fellowship at Cambridge, has redesigned it to focus exclusively on Indian residents who wish to pursue LLM.

He will likely also improve the foundation corpus, the statement said.

“We live in times of globalization and international cooperation makes a decisive contribution to ensuring a better future for our world,” said Singhvi.

It is important for Indian students to become familiar with international terrain and world class education so that they can transform themselves into global leaders who can be the flag bearers of India as they “make history not only for our nation but for the world” around us, “he said.

“The Singhvi Trinity Scholarship was designed with the aim of providing Indian students with international exposure and world-class education. Studying law in Trinity, Cambridge, was one of the most inspiring experiences of my life,” said the MP from Rajya Sabha.

“It has been really transformative and I want smart Indian law students to have the opportunity to access it even when financial affordability becomes a challenge,” he said.

The foundation is used to provide a scholarship to a student for the LLM at Trinity College and the student is recognized as a “Singhvi Trinity Scholar”.

The scholarship is limited to one year and can be applied to all or part of the cost of university and / or college fees and / or maintenance costs.

The scholarship can be awarded to students who have other scholarships or grants.

After successfully completing the LL.M. as a lawyer at the chambers of Dr. Singhvi to work in India. Degree, it said in the statement.
