Jalandhar: Only 60 seconds of silent short film “Teasailure” by Dr. Paramjeet Singh, Assistant Professor at Lovely Professional University, was selected in the world-famous international film festival “Lift-Off Global Network”. The film is a symbolic representation of the development of the earth from the dark age to the current Corona period through a “game of chess”. The title of the film is coined by the creator himself by combining three areas of creation “teaser, trailer and feature”. The “festival” aims to make each program accessible to the broadest possible audience.
Symbolism is a central feature of this further short film by Dr. Paramjeet who currently teaches Punjabi at LPU’s School of Social Sciences & Languages. He informed: “The basis of this silent film is chess. It talks about the origin of the earth and its development so far in the Corona time 2020. I tried to show human evolution, civilization, the dark age and the role of the state in a society in one minute. “
The five-step film begins with a rotating globe showing the earth. in the next phase it turns into a colorful painting that shows the beauty of the world; Next, a hand blackens the colors, revealing the dark time of wars. The fourth level is the chess game with monarchy and pawns. and the last thing in existence begins with ambulance sirens, roars and inverted peasants wearing masks and kits symbolizing the time of the coronavirus pandemic; The game continues, however.
Dr. Working with famous Bollywood screenwriter Amri Gill, Paramjeet has a lot to share with people as he has studied art and literature to the core. Magda Ruiz Martinez from Argentina had previously shown one of his other widely acclaimed silent films, “Stray Star”. It is a dialogue about racism and humanity and has been selected for 16 film festivals.
The Lift-Off Global Network is a huge platform for independent filmmakers to expand their careers in independent film with festivals, showcases and a global network of members. Lift-off sessions select the best possible short films or features from the films submitted. The first round of the festival takes place online; the second is internal; The third and final round is a live screening at the renowned Pinewood Studios in the UK and Hollywood in the US.
