Between the Corona period, the government decided to change school education significantly. Among them, NCERT will now prepare the entire curriculum with a new curriculum after 15 years. The Ministry of Personnel Development has announced that the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for school education will change after 15 years. In this case, an interim report will be submitted by December 2020. The new curriculum is expected to be ready in March next year. In this context, the Minister of Personnel Development has tweeted that work has started to prepare a new school curriculum.
Nothing but facts will change
At the same time, the Ministry instructed the National Council for Education and Training (NCERT) to take into account when making changes to textbooks that no changes to the text other than the facts are made. The ministry also said that the textbooks contain a lot of book knowledge. In this case, additional things like creative thinking, life skills, Indian culture, art, etc. should be included. The NCERT books were changed only five times in 1975, 1988, 2000 and 2005.
There will be changes in all books from the 1st to the 12th
According to the new curriculum, changes will be made in all books from the 1st to the 12th. The Ministry also asked NCERT to prepare additional course material for students without an internet facility. NCERT should gradually prepare this course material for the first through fifth grades by December 2020 and for the first through 12th grades by June 2021. As the curriculum changes, the books in the new academic session will be completely changed. In addition to creativity in books, other information, including the culture of India, will now be available.
The new National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for school education has also been initiated. NCERT is expected to make changes to textbooks in accordance with the new NCF.
