Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank meets with the Australian High Commissioner to discuss ways to promote educational relations
NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank held a virtual meeting with Australian High Commissioner in India, Barry O Farrell, on Wednesday to discuss education policy issues in both countries.

During the meeting, both heads of state and government committed themselves to promoting educational relations between India and Australia within the framework of the newly introduced National Education Policy (NEP).

“We had a virtual meeting with Barry O Farrell, the Australian High Commissioner for India. Both sides have expressed their commitment to promoting education relations between India and Australia as part of national education policy,” Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank tweeted.

Major reforms in school education brought about by NEP 2020 include the universalization of early childhood care education (ECCE), the national mission to focus on basic literacy and basic numeracy skills, no rigid separation between art and science flows and repeal the separation between work, science and curriculum and outside of school.
