Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, State Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Choudhary also attended the virtual event.

The RLB Central Agriculture University is located in Jhansi and is a major institute in the Bundelkhand region.

The university started its first academic session in 2014-15 and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in agriculture, horticulture and forestry.

“It is currently being operated by Indian grassland and feed research institute Jhansi when the main buildings were completed,” the prime minister’s office said in a statement.

Prime Minister Modi said Friday that this would improve educational infrastructure and contribute to cutting-edge research in agriculture, as well as the broader well-being of farmers.
