Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the students on Saturday via video conferencing at the grand finale of the Smart India Hackathon.
“They all work on great solutions. This platform not only offers solutions to the challenges the country is facing, but also strengthens India’s efforts in the areas of data, digitization and high-tech future, ”said PM Modi.
In India, the ecosystem is developing at a rapid pace for innovation, research, design, development and entrepreneurship, he added.
“The Smart India Hackathon has given rise to many innovations in recent years. After this edition of the hackathon, I hope that young people will continue to work on new solutions, ”said PM Modi.
The Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative that provides students with a platform to solve some of the pressing problems of our daily lives, promoting a culture of product innovation and a problem-solving mindset. In the first edition of the Smart India Hackathon in 2017, 42,000 students took part, which rose to 1 lakh in 2018 and 2 lakh in 2019.
More than 4.5 lakh students took part in the first round of the Smart India Hackathon 2020. The grand finale of this year’s software edition will be organized online by connecting all participants across the country via a specially developed advanced platform.
More than 10,000 students will compete to solve 243 problems from 37 central government departments, 17 state governments, and 20 industries.
On the new 2020 education policy, Prime Minister Modi said: “The policy aims to make job seekers instead of job seekers.” The aim of this policy is to reform people’s mindsets. ”
