Opening of Karnataka Colleges: Graduation, technical colleges in Karnataka will reopen on October 1st
BENGALURU: After more than five months, the universities of applied sciences in Karnataka are due to reopen on October 1st. However, the government will wait for guidelines from the center before making a decision.

“The 2020-21 academic year for graduate schools starts on September 1st with online courses. We plan to reopen college doors to classes on October 1st, Deputy CM CN Ashwath Narayan said on Wednesday.

Regarding the reopening of schools, Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said that the government would wait for guidelines from the Union government and plan accordingly.

Ashwath Narayan, who owns the college portfolio, said the state has made extensive preparations to start teaching under University Grants Commission’s guidelines but will be awaiting the center’s roadmap to that effect. “The state government will follow additional instructions from the central government to ensure student safety,” he added.

The government will soon schedule exams for undergraduate, graduate and engineering students in their final year of study. “As soon as the academic year begins, final exams are run along with residue checks,” said Narayan.
