NEW DELHI: The pandemic has drawn academics and teachers to immerse themselves in online classroom mode. The introduction of technology-driven teaching will transform the traditional education / teaching industry in India. Naukri.com trend report shows the growing popularity of online and e-learning sites in India. The platform saw a 4X increase in demand for professionals for online, e-learning and remote roles compared to 2019. Job vacancies for home work in the education sector have also increased 3.5 times after the pandemic.

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the leading job portal Naukri.com announced on Friday that the demand for professionals for online, e-learning and remote roles on its platform has increased four-fold compared to the previous year.

According to the report, home work vacancies in the education sector have also increased three and a half times after the pandemic.

In July of this year, over 1,000 new jobs were added to the Naukri platform in the education and teaching sector. The six best metropolitan areas contribute 55 percent of jobs in the sector led by Delhi / NCR and Bengaluru.

“The growth of Ed-Tech platforms and the increased recruitment of these players indicate important reforms in this sector,” said Pawan Goyal, chief business officer at Naukri.com, in a statement.

As a result, the platform also analyzed the recruiters’ search data to showcase the top industry keywords.

The company said keywords such as “teaching,” “counseling,” “training” and “subject matter experts” are trending in the pandemic era.

Some key professionals in demand in this sector are teachers, consultants, trainers, lecturers and professors.

The report also revealed that teachers currently contribute 16 percent of the roles, counselors 19 percent, and assistant professor and lecturer roles account for 20 percent of the opportunities in the education / teaching industry.

Average salary for “teacher” roles is between 2-5 lakhs per annum and 6-11 LPA for “professor” roles, the company said.
