The Minister of Health of Rajasthan, Dr. Raghu Sharma said approval had been obtained to open medical colleges in 15 districts.
“The state government plans that there should be a medical college in every district. Therefore, approval was given to open medical colleges in 15 districts, ”Sharma said on Friday, according to an official press release.
“There are currently 8 private sector medical schools opened and there are only three counties that do not have a state medical school. The state government is making every effort to open medical schools in these districts, ”he said.
He stressed that the government was working at the micro level at every point that could make Rajasthan a role model in the health sector across the country.
“Rajasthan is becoming a leading state with the efforts of the state government. Under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot, the government is taking special steps in the areas of health care, health infrastructure and the health workforce. The government is leaving no stone unturned to provide better health facilities to the public by facing all challenges, ”he said.
Speaking about COVID-19, the Minister of Health said that to date over 22 lakh tests have been conducted in Rajasthan and the state has increased the capacity to conduct 51,640 tests per day.
He said testing facilities have been developed in 22 counties in the state and corona testing will begin soon in all remaining counties.
The Minister of Health said the state government is providing Rs 40,000 worth of life-saving injections to the serious patients free of charge.
“The recovery rate of Rajasthan is better compared to other states in the country. Currently, approximately 80 percent of patients have recovered from the disease and gone home. Also, the state’s COVID-19 death rate is just 1.3 percent, “Sharma said.
“Approximately 211 critical patients were resuscitated by plasma therapy at 5 medical colleges in the state. With this therapy, 99 percent of patients recovered, ”he said, calling on people who have recovered from the disease to take a step forward to donate plasma.
Dr. Sharma said the state government had launched the Nirogi Rajasthan (Healthy Rajasthan) campaign to make the state’s residents healthy.
“To raise public awareness of health, Swasthya Mitras were made in 40,000 high-turnover villages by selecting a man and a woman. These 80,000 Swasthya Mitras help during the Corona Time and also work to make people aware of the other national programs. Swasthya Mitras will soon be selected in cities too, ”he said.
He highlighted that more than 82 percent of children are vaccinated in a timely manner and said efforts are being made to meet a 100 percent vaccination goal in the state.
The state government has “completed the recruitment of 765 doctors”.
“We are now working on recruiting 2,000 doctors. After the recruitment process was completed, around 12,500 midwives have been appointed to auxiliary nurse (ANM) GNMs in the state, ”he said.
