NUSI protests the center for "delaying" SSC results
NEW DELHI: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), affiliated to the Congress, protested here at Connaught Place on Saturday against the center for “failing to provide” jobs and the alleged delay in announcing the SSC results.

“No staff has yet been appointed from the group of candidates selected in 2017. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has not initiated an interview process for the CGL 2018 exam even six months after the results of the SSC CGL Mains were announced,” said the NSUI.

“Stage II and further exams were never planned for 2019. This will happen even if there is a government notification in which all ministries are instructed to complete the recruitment process from announcing job offers to publishing the results within six months,” said it further.

The NSUI said this was causing “distress among the country’s educated youth”.

Police registered one case under Sections 188 of the Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Disease Act, a senior police officer said. 25 demonstrators were arrested and later released.

A couple of them have been arrested, he added.

Congress Director Rahul Gandhi had used the hashtag “SpeakUpForSSCRailwayStudents” earlier this week to raise the issue of students who have taken the SSC exams but whose results are not yet known.
