No HC stays on the UG medical exams in Maharashtra last year
MUMBAI: The Bombay Supreme Court on Saturday refused to suspend physical mode exams for senior medical students due to begin September 8th in Maharashtra.

A department bank of Judges A A Sayed and S P Tavade heard a petition submitted by nine medical students of various currents at the Maharashtra University of Health Science.

The petition challenged the MUHC circular issued on August 21 on the implementation of the physical examination method for senior year students.

“In our view, the petitioners turned to the court at the eleventh hour. We are therefore not inclined to grant temporary relief for the suspension of the examination,” the court said in its order.

The bank also referred to the August 17 Supreme Court order refusing to postpone the JEE Main and NEET exams, noting that despite a pandemic, life must go on and students’ careers must not can be put at risk for long.

The court published the request for a further hearing on September 17th.
