NEP aims to remove the pressure on the marking sheet: PM modes
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Friday that by 2022, when the nation celebrates its 75th year of independence, students should have a new curriculum, synchronized with the new national education policy.

The Prime Minister noted that the Markenblatt has become a “printing sheet” for students and a “prestige sheet” for families, and said the new policy aims to remove that pressure.

The NEP will reduce the curriculum and make learning a fun and complete experience, he said.

The new curriculum framework will be developed and be ready by 2022 when the nation celebrates its 75th year of independence, he told the “school education conclave” organized by the Ministry of Education.

The new curriculum will be sustainable and scientific. It will have new skills to nurture critical thinking, creativity, communication, and curiosity, Modi said.

The Prime Minister noted that within a week, the Ministry of Education received over 15 lakh suggestions from teachers to implement NEP through the MyGov portal.

The Prime Minister advocated teaching up to 5th grade in the mother tongue, saying that language is just a way of learning, not a study in itself.
