NEP 2020: No plan to revise the reservation standards under NEP: Education Minister
NEW DELHI: There is no plan to revise the existing reservation norms as part of the new national education policy, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said on Monday. Nishank responded to a written question in the Lok Sabha about whether the government plans to revise existing reservation standards under the NEP.

“It’s not a matter of revising the reservation policy,” said Nishank.

The NEP approved by the Union’s cabinet in July replaces the 34-year national education policy established in 1986 and is intended to pave the way for “transformation reforms” in schools and higher education systems in order to make India a “global knowledge superpower”. .
