NEET exam in Lucknow in 72 centers
LUCKNOW: Around 36,000 medical aspirants appear in 36 test centers in Lucknow for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

The exam is held for admission to medical and dental study places in private and government medical institutions.

While the exam takes place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the aspirants were called to their respective test centers from 11 a.m. However, this has been done in batches so that the Covid-19 social distancing protocols are followed for entry to the exam center, temperature checks of aspirants within the center, document review, etc.

A number of local TOI reporters noted that some centers were maintaining standards, even using microphones to ask people not to overcrowd the entrance, and that strict vigilance was applied. Errors were also found in certain other centers.

While aspirants and their parents huddled near the entrances as well, some centers like HS Memorial Public School found police officers busy on their smartphones and sitting in a corner instead of forcing social distancing.

In the centers in Lucknow, stationed students from different districts of the state also appear for exams.
