NEET 2020: In order to alleviate the travel problem of several thousand NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) aspirants, the Kolkata Metro Railway decided to operate special services on September 13, an official said on Wednesday.
This service will be for medical entrance examiners and their guardians only, said Indrani Banerjee, spokesman for Metro Railway.
The examinees have to show NEET tickets at the gates of the subway stations, she said.
Normal metro services have been suspended due to the lockdown announced in March and attempts are being made to resume operations soon.
“No token is issued to commuters and only printed card tickets are issued to bonafid students and their guardians,” Banerjee said.
A total of 66 trains – 33 each in the up and down direction – will run from the two terminus Noapara and Kavi Subhash on September 13 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
These services will be available every 15 minutes, she said.
Candidates for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) struggled to reach exam centers earlier this month due to a lack of transportation.
