Kurukshetra woman, who was selected as HCS officer in 2019 and is now cracking UPSC, says she will take no less than IAS or IPS

KURUKSHETRA: Mahak Swami from Haryana’s Kurukshetra District achieved 393 in the 2019 UPSC Civil Service exam, the results of which were announced on Tuesday.

In December 2019, Mahak was selected as a Haryana Civil Service Officer (HCS). She is currently being trained in the Yamunanagar district of Haryana.

Mahak Swami’s father Daya Singh Swami is the headmaster of a state school in Pehowa in the Kurukshetra district and her mother Sneh Lata is a teacher at a private school in Kurukshetra.

Mahak Swami said: “I was selected in HCS in December 2019 and am currently training in the Yamunanagar district.”

When asked about her previous training and trip, Mahak said: “I completed my BTech in electronics and communication in 2013 from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Kurukshetra. After that I worked in the private sector in Noida and Noida Gurgaon for three years. Then I quit the job and started preparing for public service. I passed the UPSC exam and got rank 393 in my fourth attempt. ”

When asked about the field in which she would like to work, Mahak said: “The field would be selected according to its rank. I want to work as an officer in the Indian Administration Service (IAS) or the Indian Police Service (IPS) and I will take no less than that. I want to serve in North Indian states, but I am also willing to work anywhere in India. ”

When asked about Mahak, Yamunanagar (DC) Deputy Commissioner Mukul Kumar said: “She is a very hardworking official and was recently transferred to Yamunanagar District during her training process during Covid-19. She does her duties with full dedication. ”
