Karnataka is the first state to implement NEP: DCM Ashwath Narayan
BENGALURU: Karnataka will be the first state in the country to implement the new national education policy, said Deputy Prime Minister Dr. CN Ashwath Narayan on Monday.

“The state government is making all preparations to introduce administrative reforms and changes to the laws that are essential for the implementation of national education policy.

The state would be the first in the country to implement the policy, “said Narayan, who owns the higher education portfolio, during the opening session of a five-day online workshop on” Highlights of National Education Policy and Its Implementation. “”

The workshop is organized by Bangalore University.

The deputy prime minister said the state government would proceed with specific goals and a clear agenda in this regard.

“A high-level task force was set up immediately after we received the draft directive and this committee has held several meetings,” he added.

According to him, the committee has already made proposals for the gradual implementation of the policy and only the recommendations of the last phase are awaited.

The administrative and legal steps will be taken once the final recommendations are in, he said.

The new policy would provide quality education to all students who benefit the whole system of high quality teaching, Narayan said.
