KOLKATA: Sreemanti Dey, a student at DPS Ruby Park, was declared a Bengali topper in JEE (Main), the results of which were announced late Friday. Dey, who took the technical entrance exam in the first phase in January, received 99.9 percentage points. She did not appear for the second phase, which took place September 1-6. But neither phase could beat Dey.
Dey had also secured third place in WBJEE.
“We are thrilled. This is the best news we have had in a long time. She was so confident she was unable to take the exam in the second slot,” said Deputy Director Indrani Chattopadhyay.
