The Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) Main for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) began on Tuesday despite protests from opposition parties and some students with precautionary measures under COVID-19.
Before entering the examination rooms, the temperature of the students was checked and they were also given disinfectants in Delhi.
“I carry my own disinfectant and have also undergone a temperature check,” said Pranjal when speaking with ANI outside his exam center at Arwachin Bharti Bhawan Sr. Sec School in Vivek Vihar, New Delhi.
Even in Calcutta, candidates who showed up for the exam stood in line while adhering to the social distancing norm at TCS Gitobitan.
It was also announced in Gorakhpur that the candidates should maintain social distance and other measures after the spread of COVID 19.
At the Kaluchal Chenab College of Education in Jammu, candidates for the main JEE exam stood some distance away for temperature control and had their faces covered in a mask to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
While JEE took place today, the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test will take place on September 13th.
