JEE Main 2020: Amid strict enforcement of the COVID-19 protocols, up to 3,600 students showed up at the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) in Odisha on Tuesday, official sources said.
The students appeared for exam at 26 different centers located in seven cities across the state. The exams took place in two sessions from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Up to 38,236 students will appear for the exam in the state. The test will continue through September 6, he said.
“Best wishes to all students who appear for # JEEMain2020 at this challenging time. May you all be successful and get through with flying colors, ”said Prime Minister Naveen Patnaik in a Twitter post.
Students take the exam at the 26 exam centers in seven cities – Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Berhampur, and Sambalpur – following all COVID-19 guidelines.
Before entering the examination rooms, the temperature of the students was checked with a thermal scanner. They also had to adhere to social distancing norms when entering the exam room.
The state government has made extensive provisions for the movement of students and their guardians by providing buses and accommodation for them.
“The agreement reached by the state government helped many students to get the opportunity to take the exam. It has helped immensely for the rural students, ”said Nirakar Mallick, a JEE aspirant from Kendrapara district.
