JAM 2021 dates announced; Application process starts today

BENGALURU: Shortly after the successful execution of the joint entrance exams (JEE-Mains) by the National Testing Agency from September 1st to 6th, it is at the Indian Science Institution (IISc) to announce the dates for organizing the joint admission test for Masters (JAM) 2021.

In a statement released by the IISc media department on Wednesday, IISc director Govindan Rangarajan was quoted as saying that JAM 2021 will take place on February 14 (Sunday) 2021.

“The application portal for this will be open for prospective applicants from September 10 to October 15, 2020,” it continues.

“JAM 2021 is open to all nationals and there is no age limit. The JAM score is only valid for one year. Candidates for JAM 2021 must appear for admission to master’s courses for the academic year 2021-22,” the statement said.

JAM is an aptitude test for candidates seeking admission to a variety of Masters programs at top institutions including Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and Indian Science Education and Research Institutes (IISERs) across the country.

The JAM score is taken into account for admission to various master’s degree programs, including MSc, Masters in Economics, Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD Dual Degree, MSc-MS (Research) / PhD Dual Degree and other post-bachelor’s degree programs at IlTs (Bhilai, Bhubaneshwar, Bombay, Delhi, ISM Dhanbad, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Palakkad, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar, Tirupati and BHU Varanasi.

The same is also used by IISc Bengaluru for admission to integrated doctoral programs and by other centrally funded technical institutions such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET Punjab and IISERs for admission to their programs.
