In addition to the flagship postgraduate program in management and the existing doctoral program in management (PhD), two new programs were launched on Thursday, including PGP in Finance and PGP in Liberal Studies and Management (PGP-LSM)
IIM-K is the first IIM to start a regular full-time MBA program in Liberal Studies and Management.
Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and CEO of Nestle India, was the main guest on this occasion, led by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM-K.
In his inaugural speech, Narayanan emphasized the importance of setting high standards in the face of the challenges of the world after Covid and how courage, driven by compassion, can overcome any obstacle, both personally and professionally.
On this occasion Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM-K, said that IIM-K anticipated the multidisciplinary approach of the new national education policy (2020) and the start of the two new programs PGP Finance and PGP-. LSM is a hallmark of the institute’s ability to be ahead of its time in the education sector.
He was pleased that the institute also brought gender diversity back into the national discourse by opening three of the programs, including the flagship PGP, in which more than 50% women participated.
Dean (Executive Education), Prof. C. Raju, Dean (Academic Affairs and Development), Prof. Anandakuttan Unnithan, Dean (Research, Innovation and Internationalization) Prof. Rudra Sensarma, Chairman, PGP-LSM, Prof. Deepa Sethi and Chairman PGP Finance, Prof. Jijo Lukose spoke at the event.
The online courses for the programs start in the second week of August.
