IIM-CAT 2020: Exam duration reduced, number of sessions increased, check major changes here

CAT 2020: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore, has announced some significant changes to the exam schedule for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2020. In a press release released Tuesday, the institute said the exam will be conducted in three days on November 29th meetings. It also states that the revised duration of the test will be 120 minutes. Until last year, the exam was conducted in two sessions and three hours in each session.

According to the statement, the question paper will contain three sections, namely: Verbal Skill and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Reasoning, and Quantitative Skill, and candidates are given 40 minutes to solve each section and are not allowed to move from section to section while questions are in one Section to be answered.

“Tutorials on understanding the test format will be available on the CAT website from October 2020. Candidates are advised to work on the tutorials available on the CAT website at an early stage,” the press release continues.

The last registration date for IIM-CAT 2020 has also been extended to September 23 at 5 p.m. The exam will take place on November 29th.

Candidates can edit their registration form after the registration window has closed. Candidates can edit their test city preference, signature and photo in the application form.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a prerequisite for admission to various post graduate and fellow programs of IIMs. CAT 2020 scores may also be used by listed non-IIM member institutions. A list of such institutions can be found on the CAT website. IIMs play no role in the selection process for non-IIM institutes.
