Calcutta On Thursday, it announced that it would digitally launch the two-year MBA flagship program for incoming batch 2020-2022 on August 10.
Around 480 students from across the country will take part in the virtual classes.
Online courses for second year MBA students start on August 3rd.
Taking into account the safety of the candidates, staff and faculty members after the COVID 19 pandemic, all admission interviews were conducted online
IIM-C statement said.
“Since it was not possible to conduct a written fairness skill test as part of the online approval process, the institute decided not to consider the weighting given for WAT for the final selection of the MBA 2020-22 batch,” it said.
Prof. Peeyush Mehta, Operations Management Group, said the institute creates technology solutions for MBA students to mimic the teaching experience as much as possible in online mode.
“To improve the learning experience, students are divided into six sections of class strength, 80 in each section. There would be an average of four to five hours of live contact hours in the classroom overall,” he said.
The institute will also support students facing Internet problems, including providing missed class records, the ability to interact with teachers after class, and additional tutorials, Mehta said.
“To meet the challenges of the pandemic, we set up a plan to ensure an excellent learning experience through online onboarding and guidance for the incoming batch,” said director Prof. Anju Seth.
