As it is difficult for teachers and schools to adjust to the online teaching mode, the International Institute of Information Technology in Hyderabad (IIIT-H) will run a certificate course for the faculty of online teaching later this month.
The seven-day online course, which runs from August 17th to 23rd, costs £ 5,000.
Basic models for online education are covered. It will include approaches to prepare and deliver engaging online lectures, tools, and skills needed to record lecture videos and create interactive content on popular learning management systems.
It also offers tips to facilitate collaboration and discussion between students and presents them with various assessment and evaluation methods.
The Covid-19 pandemic has forced colleges and other educational institutions to switch to online classes because they were unable to hold classes in the traditional school structure.
PJ Narayanan, director of IIIT-H, said that online has become the main line in the education sector. “With educational institutions across the country preferring online tuition, the approaches, educational models, techniques, tips, and tricks are still elusive,” he said.
“When the closure was announced in March, we switched to online without any loss of time and completed the semester on time with 100 courses from 80 faculties. All of their experiences were summarized in an internal course for our faculty that ran in July, ”he said.
