Haryana's Minister of Education tests positive for coronavirus
CHANDIGARH: Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal said Wednesday that he tested positive for coronavirus. He urged anyone who might have come in contact in the past few days to isolate themselves and have their tests done.

“After a few symptoms I did my Covid test and it came back positive. I urge anyone who may have come into contact with me to isolate themselves and do their tests,” the minister tweeted.

The minister’s advisor said Kanwar Pal’s report in the morning was positive and he is currently in Chandigarh.

In a tweet, Prime Minister Manohar Lal Khattar wished the minister a speedy recovery.

Previously, Khattar, Energy Minister Ranjeet Singh Chautala, Agriculture Minister JP Dalal, Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma and assembly spokesman Gian Chand Gupta had also tested positive for the infection.

Khattar was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after testing positive on August 25.

The prime minister is making steady strides in his recovery from the infection, hospital authorities said on Tuesday.

As of Tuesday, Haryana had 81,059 COVID-19 cases and 854 deaths.
