Over 600 candidates took the entrance exams for various postgraduate courses at Haryana Agricultural University in Hisar on Sunday.
However, 300 applicants were missing, said university official BR Kamboj.
The university conducts the entrance exams in four phases. The other dates on which the remaining phases are scheduled are September 9th, September 12th and September 16th. Kamboj said the exam for admission to postgraduate programs will be conducted as directed by central and state governments in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said all exam centers had been refurbished, with special attention paid to social distancing norms and the wearing of masks. In addition, the university administration provided the candidates with water bottles and face masks after they disinfected their hands at the entrance to the exam center, he said in a statement.
The exam was conducted from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Four examination centers have been set up to carry out these exams, taking into account the number of students and the guidelines of the central and state governments. Kamboj visited the examination centers together with the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Samar Singh, and took stock of all exam-related preparations. Exams for state-sponsored colleges and universities in Haryana will also be held until the end of September.
The decision was made recently at a meeting attended by Vice Chancellors and examiners from all state-run universities in the state.
