Amritsar– In the recently published “The Week-Hansa Research Survey-2020”, Guru Nanak Dev University was the only university in Punjab to rank 7 in the top 10 multidisciplinary universities of the public state.
Regarding North India, Guru Nanak Dev University is a total of 8 universities that have been considered, i.e. H. Central, State and Private Universitiesth Position. It ranks first among the state public universities in North India immediately after the Panjab University in Chandigarh, an intergovernmental corporation funded by the Indian government.
This is another quill in the cap of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar after bagging the 11th Rank at the state universities of India in the recently published “India Today Ranking-2020”. It is also in the top 9% of universities according to the Center for World Universities ranking. Aside from being the only Category I university in the state to be accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with the highest grade A ++. Its H index is now 103, a quantum leap from 64 three years ago. According to the Research Gate analysis, the research performance per teacher is highest among all state universities in the region, at 7.71.
Prof. Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor of the university, expressed happiness, saying it was due to the continuous and tireless efforts of the university faculty, non-teaching staff, research fellows and students. Increasing the ranking pays homage to the hard work they do. In order to maintain the dynamism of the education in the currently difficult COVID times, the university is conducting online lectures via Google Suite and also approving new batches using the online advisory method. Dr Ashwani Luthra, Director of IQAC, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, said that the university performed well on all parameters of the survey used to determine the ranks.
