Gauhati University conducts exams for all students in mixed mode according to the latest guidelines from the University Grants Commission (UGC). Dr. Pratap Jyoti Handique, Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, said in a letter that the exams will be completed by September 30, 2020.

The exams are carried out in an “exclusive and student-friendly procedure”, whereby the online exams are “light weight”, said Dr. Handique.

The university will resume all upcoming activities, including admission, at the beginning of the new session when educational institutions are allowed to reopen, the vice chancellor said.

Assam’s Minister of Education, Himanta Biswa Sarma, said on Saturday that an online exam for Assam university students was not possible.
