FYJC admissions: 45 percent of students confirm admission in round 1
MUMBAI: Only 45 percent of students confirmed their admission in Round 1 of Junior College First Year Admission to the general category list. Students who were assigned to colleges in the first performance list listed in August were required to confirm admission by 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

According to official data released Friday evening, over 53,000 students confirmed their admission from 1.17 lakh students who were assigned to colleges in Round 1. The total number of seats is 2,00,020 excluding the quota seats.

Over 6,000, 26,000, 19,000 and 700 students have confirmed their admission to art, business, science and professional courses.

A total of 17,461 students were admitted in zero rounds, ie for internal students, management and minority quotas, and 7,766 students were admitted to social quotas such as SC, ST, OBC, VJNT, EWS and SEBC.

At this year’s approvals, stream limits increased due to high performance in grade 10 exams across all school boards. The office of the assistant director of education has yet to announce the date for the second earnings list.
