Health precautions throughout the visa system
To ensure a safe environment for customers and employees, VFS Global has established standardized protective measures that must be observed in all UK Visa application centers. To ensure that health and safety standards are met, the centers have implemented a mandatory online appointment system. In addition, the body temperature of all customers is checked at the entrance and physical distancing measures are observed.
In addition, the staff takes preventive measures, e.g. B. Disinfecting surfaces with high contact, examining body temperature, using hand disinfectants, washing hands regularly, etc.
Since July 6, 2020, the UK visa application centers have been gradually reopened in eleven cities in India: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru (Global Tech Park only), Chandigarh, Chennai, Jalandhar, Kochi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai (Mahalaxmi only), New Delhi ( Shivaji Metro Stadium) and Pune – and these centers receive Tier 4 applications. All of the above locations are operational and subject to local lockdown regulations.
Students starting their courses online can apply for a visa later
To limit disruption from ongoing COVID-19 travel restrictions, UKVI allows incoming international students to apply for a Tier 4 study visa if they are to travel to the UK, rather than at the start of their course. This means that already approved students can start their courses online and apply for a UK study visa when they are ready.
