Flexibility in visa requirements, improved health arrangements for students
Travel to the UK for the new academic year

Health precautions have been implemented across the visa application system, including the doorstep service “On Demand Mobile Visa” available to student visa customers.

Visas and immigration to the UK have introduced greater flexibility in visa requirements so that students can apply for visas when they can travel to the UK, rather than at the start of their studies.

Students taking courses online can still apply for the Graduate Immigration Route provided they are in the UK by April 6, 2021.

As part of its commitment to improve the student visa system, the United Kingdom has introduced Visa and Immigration (UKVI) flexibility in visa requirements, with health precautions across the visa system to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all customers, especially incoming customers, to ensure international students, together with their Visa service partner VFS Global.

Health precautions throughout the visa system

To ensure a safe environment for customers and employees, VFS Global has established standardized protective measures that must be observed in all UK Visa application centers. To ensure that health and safety standards are met, the centers have implemented a mandatory online appointment system. In addition, the body temperature of all customers is checked at the entrance and physical distancing measures are observed.
In addition, the staff takes preventive measures, e.g. B. Disinfecting surfaces with high contact, examining body temperature, using hand disinfectants, washing hands regularly, etc.
Since July 6, 2020, the UK visa application centers have been gradually reopened in eleven cities in India: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru (Global Tech Park only), Chandigarh, Chennai, Jalandhar, Kochi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai (Mahalaxmi only), New Delhi ( Shivaji Metro Stadium) and Pune – and these centers receive Tier 4 applications. All of the above locations are operational and subject to local lockdown regulations.

Students starting their courses online can apply for a visa later

To limit disruption from ongoing COVID-19 travel restrictions, UKVI allows incoming international students to apply for a Tier 4 study visa if they are to travel to the UK, rather than at the start of their course. This means that already approved students can start their courses online and apply for a UK study visa when they are ready.

Improved new guideline for immigration route for graduates

The new graduate immigration route that allows students who have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to stay and work in the UK, seek work and gain experience for up to two years (three years for PhD students) from summer 2021 collecting has been adapted to students who start their courses abroad online. These students can apply for the Graduate Route provided they are in the UK before April 6, 2021 and complete the Finn

In 2019/20, student visas from India were 4.5 times higher than in 2016

  • According to UKVI, Indian nationals were granted nearly 50,000 UK student visas in the year through March 2020. This corresponds to an increase of 136% compared to the year up to March 2019.
  • This increase was the largest number of scholarships for Indian students since the year ended September 2011.
  • Almost 300,000 student visas (including dependents) were issued worldwide in the year to March 2020. This is an increase of 23% compared to the year ended March 2019 and the highest level since the year ended June 2011.

In addition, the new graduate route is expected to open next summer. This means that students traveling to the UK this fall will be able to request an additional 2 year leave after graduation to start their careers in the UK. “

‘On-Demand Mobile Visa’ to apply for a visa on your doorstep

All Visa customers, including students, can also use the optional mobile on-demand Visa service, which allows them to submit their visa application and register biometric data conveniently and securely from home. Once a visa decision has been made, passports can be sent to the customer’s home.
