Social media website Facebook has partnered with Coursera, an Ed-Tech platform, to launch the Social Media Marketing Professional Certificate, according to a joint official publication.

According to the companies, the certificate is aimed at learners with no prior knowledge who want to prepare for social media marketing jobs within a few months.

The joint press release states that the five-course learners will explore the basics of social media marketing for various social platforms inside and outside the Facebook ecosystem. Topics include creating impactful content, determining the right platform for campaigns, measuring campaign effectiveness, and protecting user data.

The professional certificate is created at your own pace and must be completed within 20 weeks of five hours per week. Upon graduation, learners will receive an industry-recognized certificate that they can use to apply for entry-level social media marketing roles, Coursera said.

Those who take the certificate course can share their résumés with a consortium of top employers who are committed to finding candidates from this talent pool. The consortium includes L’ange Hair, Snow Teeth Whitening, Ruggable, Freelancer, Facebook and a growing number of other leading brands.
