Online learning and continuing education have seen a surge in demand after the COVID-19 pandemic, and digital skills and remote working courses have emerged as the top choice for Indian professionals according to the global professional network LinkedIn.

According to LinkedIn Learning Data, the number of hours spent on virtual learning in India from July 2019 to June 2020 increased 245 percent year over year.

LinkedIn released its annual list of the most popular courses on Wednesday, a round-up of the top courses LinkedIn members have attended most over the past year (from July 2019 to June 2020), and provides insights into topics that professionals worldwide love want to learn the current scenario.

The list is based on the number of unique learners in India and around the world.

The top ten courses that professionals in India are looking for the most are Learning Python. Time management: working from home; Strategic thinking; Writing a resume; Basic Excel training (Office 365); Certification preparation: Project Management Professional (PMP); Remote work foundations; Remote work tips; Python Essential Training and Communication with Confidence.

“Virtual learning continues to grow as professionals adjust to the new normal of remote working. In fact, LinkedIn learning data shows that July 2020 hours of study are more than three times higher than July 2019, ”said Ruchee Anand, director of LinkedIn Talent and Learning Solutions, India.

Globally, courses to help professionals achieve work-life balance and work better remotely are high on the list.

In India, the list reflects an interest in both digital skills and adaptation to remote working as part of soft skills, and 5 out of 10 of these courses focus on soft skills.

LinkedIn made all courses on the list of the most popular courses available to everyone for free by September 30, 2020.

LinkedIn Learning offers more than 16,400 courses in a variety of business, creative, and technical categories. Since the pandemic, LinkedIn has offered over 600 LinkedIn Learning courses in seven languages ​​for free.
