CGC Landran's student team, MEC Innovators, reports 20 patents in one

CHANDIGARH: With an interdisciplinary approach to research and problem solving being the order of the day to fuel the advancement of the nation, this team of 4 from the Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran is a mechanical engineering (ME) and electronics and Communication Technology (ECE) has successfully used this aspect to make amazing discoveries and patent applications.

The team consists of Sukant Gupta, the team leader who, together with Sangram Singh Thakur and Arihit Sehgal from the same industry and Neeraj Kumar from ECE, operates mechanical engineering and is known under the name MEC INNOVATORS. With their combined efforts and creative instincts, they filed 19 patents in just one year, and the 20th is in preparation.

These patents relate to different ideas that address numerous concerns that society has in everyday life. Few of them are Advanced Integrated Bathing Chair for the disabled and the elderly, helmet with built-in mask for COVID-19 prevention, autonomous keyboard disinfection systems for ATMs, autonomous AI pumps for irrigating fields by recycling AC drained water, and firefighting spider robots.
